What your experience looks like

  1. El Kiosko restaurant · Ardales(opens Google Maps in a new tab)

Linear route: the meeting point and the end of the route are not the same place.

We recommend arriving with plenty of time for access control and helmet collection.

  2. Access and helmet

We enter through the access control point, where you're given the compulsory helmet to wear throughout the route.

  3. Walkways through the gorge

We make our way along the walkways suspended over the canyon, stopping to hear about the history of the site and take photos.

  4. Hanging bridge

We cross the hanging bridge over the gorge, the most photographed point of the route.

  5. Finish at El Chorro

We finish by El Chorro, where the guided visit to the Caminito del Rey ends.

Important information

  • Closed, sports-type footwear is compulsory: flip-flops or sandals are not allowed.
  • Minimum age 8. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • Wearing the helmet is compulsory throughout the route and is provided at the access point.
  • This is not a suitable route if you suffer from severe vertigo.
  • It is not adapted for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
  • The shuttle bus back to the starting point costs €2.50 per person, is not included and is not operated by Áloratur.
  • We recommend bringing enough water, sun protection and a cap during the warmer months.

How do I get back to the starting point?

The Caminito del Rey is a linear route: you enter at one end of the gorge and exit at the other, so the return to the starting point is made on the shuttle bus connecting El Chorro with the access area.

Your guide will explain how the journey works on the day, so you don't need to worry about anything once you finish walking.
